Splice: Stranded Together
Splice: Stranded Together was the theme for York/Sheridan Bachelor of Design Program's 2008 Graduate Show. As a member of the branding committee, we were given the challenge to create the central theme for the show which represented the uniqueness of the class of '08 and the program. The term “Splice” came to refer to the idea that each student, each with a different set of characteristics, talents and interest, have been spliced together to create the creative strand. It also speaks of how we practice. A project is given to us and we splice from different fields, inspirations, personal experiences to create our end product. The multiple colours represent this and the diversity of the class.
As part of the branding team my goal was to create a modular identity which could be represented in many different mediums from print, to digital, to three-dimensional applications. Pictured above is the identity and some brand applications at the show.
